FAQ'S

What’s it all about?

Promoting results from equestrian competitions has always been an important part of what we do at Equestrian News NI & Ireland. However we often wished we could organise that information in a systematic way that people could use it again if they wanted to sell their horse, or track their own progress throughout the year at various levels of competition. Well now you can have something to show for your efforts! For the minimal price of an entry fee, you can record your results all year long and enjoy the benefits.

.

What do I get for my money?

You can create an account for free for 30 days; then add detailsfor you and one horse to the database for £10. For this price you will be displayed in the database every time you compete at a show on the system. You will have a rider summary page that includes links to your horses and a horse summary page, where your achievements including clear rounds at each height will be listed.

I produce young horses and ponies, what can the database offer me?

The horse summary page will automatically be updated with the latest number of clear rounds your horses have achieved at each height, also listing their scores in dressage over 60% and placed outings in showing, working hunter and other disciplines. Full results in the system will also be viewable by clicking a link from the horses summary page so everything is as transparent and clear as possible for everyone involved. This way, you can offer a true reflection of the horse’s capabilities and demonstrate a true ‘1.20m’ horse at a glance for instance.

How do I sign up?

You click the sign up arrow on the home page, and enter your details in the relevant areas. After creating your account, you will be re-directed to the home page where you can sign in using your email address and use your new password to log in to your area. Remember you have 30 days free on the system before having to pay for your subscription.

How do I add a horse to my account?

You log in to your area, or click home, once you have logged in ad then scroll to the bottom of the page. On the left hand side you will see a link called ‘add your first horse’. Click this link and add the details of your animal, make sure you have entered everything correctly as it cannot be edited after submitting the information.

If you want to add a second or third horse, you would go to the same place on your home page which will now display a link called ‘Add additional horses’. After clicking this link it will take you to the relevant page to add your new horses to the system.

How many horses can I add in my first 30 days?

You can add up to 5 horses before you need to subscribe to the system

What does it cost to add horses to the system?

It costs just £5 per horse per year

If we have a bad result, can I remove it from the database?

No, once the show organiser adds and verifies your result to the database, it must remain online unless the horse is removed from the database. If you don’t wish your result to be included in the results for that competition, you should state this when you enter (as HC).

I’m trying to sell my horse and would like to include my ‘horse summary record’ to show everyone what it’s done. How can I include it in the details of my advertisement

You can simply link to it from your online advertisement, or download the file using the ‘export’ link provided.

I've created an account, why am I not already in the database?

After creating an account, you must enter your own details into the database and accept the terms and conditions;these include the understanding that your horses’ full details and your name and county will be visible online. This is to ensure you understand where your details are shown.

I created an account but didn’t receive a notification by email and I can’t find my account – what happened?

Check you entered your email address correctly and your internet connection was secure when you submitted your details, you can email us to check we received your request on admin@equestrianresults.co.uk or try again. If it didn’t work the second time, please contact us.

I want my results and horse details to be included in the database but I don't want my name displayed online, can I still use the online system?

Yes, you can open an account as normal, and when you go to your member home page you will see a checkbox that changes your name to ‘name withheld’ in the results reports. This won’t affect your horse results, but you won’t be searchable in the system. (Our email address is admin@equestrianresults.co.uk if you have any problems.) Equestrian centres may use the export function to send their competition results to local media, you should be aware that in this case, unless manually changed by the equestrian centre after exporting the information, that you could be named as 'name withheld' in the local media.

The link to the results I want to see isn't working?

Results will go online as soon as the equestrian centres have had a chance to enter them on the system. If your results aren't displayed, check back later to see if they have been completed at a later time. If a week has passed, since the competition, please feel free to email us to investigate the problem.

I want my details to be shown online but my equestrian centre doesn't have any shows in the 'future shows' page, what can I do?

Tell your equestrian centre what they're missing out on! Show them this website and give them our contact details so they can talk to us about getting included. It is not expensive and could bring them lots more business! If they give us your name as the person who recommended them to us, we will refund your subscription fee

How do I enter a show online?

If the show organiser has elected to accept entries online for their show, you will see a link in the future shows section beside the relevant show called ‘online entries’ or ‘both’. (This will be shown in the far right hand column.) Click this link and it will take you to a screen for entering your class online. You enter the name of the rider and horse you are entering in the competition and click the relevant classes they will be competing in. The total cost of entries will be summarised for you to confirm before the amountis deducted from your account. You will receive an email to say you have been entered in the appropriate class, if the details in the email confirmation, please email admin@equestrianresults.co.uk

Why does the system use credits instead of just paying for something after I’ve chosen it?

Because of the nature of databases, the credit system was a preferred choice for a number of reasons. The main technical reasons were for stability and security of the system, streamlining processes was a bonus. As you enter shows online, add horse details or updating your subscriptions, you are ‘inserting data’ into the system. If we used a ‘pay afterwards’ method, it would mean deleting that data if a payment wasn’t successful. This can lead to potential of lost information;therefore we made the decision to choose a credit system.

The credit system works like a mobile phone top up. We would recommend that you only top it up with the credit you are about to use before making a purchase. For instance, if you want to add you and your horse, you know it will cost £10, therefore add £10 credit to your account before making your purchase. If you want to add an extra horse, you know it will cost £5, so add £5 credit and make your purchase. If you want to make two entries to the system, at a price of £10 each, then you will add £20 credit and enter your two classes.

Where can I see how much credit I have on my account?

It is clearly displayed at the top of your rider home page.

My result is wrong, what can I do?

After a show organiser submits results from each show, they cannot be changed without the equestrian centre contacting the database administrator to confirm a correction is required. If you notice an error has been made, please contact the relevant show organiser who in turn will contact us to approved and verify the change before we can change it online

How does the search facility work?

Simply enter the name of the horse, rider, venue or owner’s surname that you are searching for and the advanced query system will provide predictive names based on the letters you have entered.

How can I see a list a list of just the shows at one venue?

You can search for the venue in the search section, select the apprioriate organisation and it will have a list of shows on the right hand side of their summary page.
